What is VTU Provisional Degree certificate (PDC)?
Provisional Degree certificate is a temporary degree certificate provided to you by your university (Visvesvaraya Technological University).
PDC tells you that you are eligible to receive Convocation Degree certificate.
Is Provisional Degree certificate mandatory to have with you?
Provisional Degree certificate is not mandatory to have with you.
Why do you need Provisional Degree certificate?
You may need PDC when you are yet to receive your Degree certificate and at the same time you are looking for a job or want to apply for further studies.
What is the validity of PDC?
Provisional Degree certificate is valid until you receive your Convocation degree certificate.
When can you apply for Provisional Degree certificate?
You can apply for PDC Immediately after you complete your education. In other words, immediately after your final sem results are declared.
And also, you do not need to wait for your final Sem marks card to reach your hands. You can get your PDC to your address in 15 to 45 working days after applying.

How to get a Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC)?
Steps to follow to get PDC:
- PDC application form
- Make online payment
- A Letter to Registrar (optional)
- A4 size envelope cover
- Submit
Step 1: Print PDC application form
- Print the application form: PDC Application form
- You can also get the application form from your college.
- Read the PDC application form carefully and fill the required fields.
- You can leave “PDC Token no“ blank. It will be filled by VTU.

Step 2: Make an online payment
- Make Online Payment of Rs. 400 at VTU payment Portal: VTU Payment Link
Note: VTU has removed the PayUMoney link from its website






- Fill the required details in the online payment form.
- Make sure to note down the Payment ID/Transaction ID/Reference number at the end of your payment.
This ID is required to fill in the PDC application form. - Check the latest fee: VTU List of Application Forms and Fee Structure
Step 3: Write a Letter to Registrar (Optional)
- Write a letter to registrar clearly mentioning the purpose of the application.
- The letter must contain your USN number, College, Home address, Payment ID, and Phone number.
Step 4: Buy an A4 size Envelope cover
- Go to a stationery shop and buy an A4 size envelope cover
- Staple Together Letter and PDC application form. Put them all into the envelope
- Write your home address or wherever you want to receive the PDC on one side, and below-given address on the other side of the Envelope cover:

Step 5: Submit
You can choose one of the below options to submit your documents.
Option 1: Submit at VTU Bangalore Regional center, or any other VTU regional center nearest to you and receive your PDC in 2 days:

You’ll receive your PDC in 15 to 20 working days.
Option 3: Visit VTU Belgaum before 12 PM along with your college ID, DL for photo identification, and submit personally, and receive your PDC on the same day in the evening.
Please Note:
If you plan to submit at VTU Belgaum then you don’t need to carry the xerox copy of marks, No need of anybody’s signature, No need of anybody’s attestation, No need of the letter
