NOTE:

  1. 7th Semester B.E/B. Tech students shall have to undergo Internship for a period of four Weeks.
  2. 1st Semester B.E/B.Tech/B. Arch Students shall compulsorily undergo Induction Program for a period of 3 Weeks as per the schedule is given by VTU.
  3. The faculty/staff shall be available to undertake any work assigned by the university.
  4. If any of the above dates are declared to be a holiday then the corresponding event wilt come into effect on the next working day.
  5. Notification regarding Calendar of Events relating to the conduct of University Examination will be issued by the Registrar (Evaluation) from time to time.

Maximum Duration for Completion of VTU B.E. Course Extended


The VTU University has a received number of requests from the students admitted during the academic years 2010-ll(regular), 2011-12 and 2012-13 (lateral entry), with a prayer to relax the maximum duration for completion of their course and also to permit them to appear for the University examinations. These requests are made by those students who could not complete their Degree within the maximum duration stipulated by the University under OB 6.2.

Hence, the matter was placed before the authorities of the VTU University. The authorities of the University considered these requests and resolved to provide two additional years in addition to the existing maximum duration specified in the regulations Governing B.E./B.Tech. as detailed below:

1. PERIOD OF RELAXATION:

1.1 Payment Of Examination Fees:

The students admitted under this benefit shall pay an examination fee of Rs. 2,000/- per paper subject to a maximum of Rs. 6,000/­ per semester.

1.2 Applicability:

The relaxation in maximum duration is also applicable to autonomous colleges under VTU

2. CONDUCT OF PARALLEL CLASSES:


2.1 Eligibility for admission to 5th Sem.:

  1. The scheme of study at:
    • 1st / 2nd Semester Level: 2010 scheme or 2014 scheme
    • 3rd / 4th-semester level: 2010 scheme only
  2. The student should have completed the 1st year (1st and 2nd semester) without any backlog.
  3. The student should not have more than 4 backlog subjects in 2nd year (3rd and 4th Semester).

2.2 Eligibility for admission to 7th Sem.:

  1. The scheme of study at:
    • 1st / 2nd Semester level: 2010 scheme or 2014 scheme
    • 3rd / 4th-semester level: 2010 scheme only
    • 5th /6th Semester level: 2010 scheme only
  2. The student should have completed 1st and 2nd year (1st to 4th semester) without any backlog.
  3. The student should not have more than 4 backlog subjects in 3rd year (5th and 6th Semester).

3. CONDITIONS TO BE SATISFIED IN RESPECT OF RELAXATION IN MAXIMUM DURATION AND AVAILING THE BENEFIT OF PARALLEL CLASSES

3.1 Responsibilities of students:

  1. Verify your eligibility before getting admission to the respective semester for parallel classes.
  2. Satisfy the attendance and IA requirements as per the University norms.

3.2 Responsibilities of Principals:

  1. It is compulsory that, every college (including Autonomous Colleges in respect students admitted in only VTU scheme), has to arrange for conducting parallel classes for:
    1. 5th and 6th semesters 2010 scheme during the academic year 2018-2019
    2. 7th and 8th semesters 2010 scheme during the academic years 2018-2019 and also 2019 -2020.
  2. Verify the eligibility of the students before admitting them to respective semester.
  3. Ascertain that NO STUDENT CAN GET ADMITTED TO ANY SEMESTER WITHOUT ELIGIBILITY.
  4. Maintain the records in respect of Attendance and IA as per the University norms.

The Principals of constituent and affiliated engineering colleges are informed to bring this to the notice of all the concerned and advice the students accordingly.

VTU Update: How to Change Branch After 1st Yr in VTU 2018-19


The Principals of all colleges viz: Affiliated, Autonomous, Constituent coming under the ambit of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi may carry out the process of Change of Branch at the respective colleges

The following norms are required to be followed mandatorily:


  1. Strict adherence to the AICTE guidelines. AICTE communication F.No. Admn(Branch)-31/2001 dt: 12·09-2001 (Copy enclosed)
  2. The students admitted in Second Shift and SNQ quota are not eligible for Change of Branch. Copy of Govt. Order ED 160
    TEC 2016, dt: 24·6·2017 enclosed.
  3. Documents to be submitted to the University:
    1. Copy of the Notification inviting applications for Change of Branch.
    2. List of students applied for Change of Branch in order of merit.
    3. List of students who have applied for the change of branch from various branches with details such as their present
      branch, branch desired and percentage of marks of I and II semesters and aggregate percentage.
    4. 4. Certification from the Principal that he/she has not permitted change of branch to students admitted SNQ and
      second shift
    5. Details of the vacancy position in prescribed format as below:

VTU Update: How to Change College after 1st Yr in VTU 2018-19


The Principals of all colleges (Constituent, Affiliated, Autonomous) under VTU, Belagavi are informed to follow the norms/guidelines given below for permitting Change of College for 3rd semester for the year 2018-19.

PLEASE NOTE: PRESENTLY CHANGE OF COLLEGE AT ONLY 3RD SEMESTER LEVEL IS BEING CONSIDERED.

Change of College VTU Norms to be followed:

  1. Any student seeking change of college for 3rd semester shall continue in the 2017-18 scheme only as per Executive Council Resolution number 8.4 of 140th meeting held on 13/7/2018
  2. Backlog papers if any from I and II semester of previous scheme attended by the student, shall be cleared in that scheme only, in the admitting college.
  3. The Principals of both admitting college and relieving college shall verify and confirm the eligibility of student w.r.t. vertical progression and then only issue the NOCs
  4. In case of candidates migrating in the following category shall not have any backlog papers from I year
    1. Other Universities to VTU
    2. Other Universities to Autonomous scheme
    3. VTU to Autonomous scheme
    4. Autonomous scheme to VTU scheme
    5. Autonomous scheme to Autonomous scheme
  5. The students admitted in Second Shift and SNQ quota are not eligible for Change of College (Govt. Order ED 160 TEC 2016, date: 24/06/2017).
  6. The procedure and norms for Change of College is as per Annexure-I
  7. The process must be completed from 11/08/2018 to 25/08/2018
    NOTE: The Process of Change of Branch at college shall be completed as per norms. If the vacancy exists at 3rd-semester level after Change of Branch, then the college may issue NOC for Change of College.
  8. The NOC issued after the last date notified will not be considered by the University.
  9. The NOC of the admitting/ re-leaving college shall clearly indicate the vacancy in numerical form as per the format enclosed.
  10. Change of College with Change of branch is permitted only at the beginning of III semester
  11. University Fees:
    1. Change of College: Rs. 5,000/·
    2. Change of College with Change of branch Rs. 10,000/·
    3. Migration from other University to VTU and Autonomous to VTU: Syllabus Equivalence Rs 10,000/· and Rs. 5,000/· (if already obtained, need not pay)
    4. Migration from Other University to Autonomous College: Clearance Certificate: Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 5,000/·(if already obtained, need not pay)

Fees for Change of College for each student: Ra 6,000/·. The fees shall be paid ONLINE (Kindly visit University’s website http://www.vtu.vc.in for fee payment)

Further, the Principals of Engineering Colleges Constituent/ Affiliated to /Autonomous under VTU are hereby requested not to allow any students from other Colleges / Universities to seek admission or to attend classes without prior approval of VTU. Belagavi.

PROCEDURE FOR CHANGE OF COLLEGE FOR UG COURSES

  1. Requests for Change of College will be entrained only at 3rd, 5th and 7th semester (and also 9th semester in case of B. Arch)
  2. Change of Branch only at III semester
  3. Second shift and SNQ students are not eligible for Change of College/ Change of branch.
  4. Requests for change of scheme i.e. VTU to Autonomous or vice versa is considered at 3rd or 5th semester only (i.e. either after completion of II or IV semester).
  5. Student joining Autonomous Scheme from VTU scheme in the same college shall submit a declaration letter expressing his/her willingness to join the autonomous system and college should take prior approval from VTU for admitting students to Autonomous Scheme required to pay the fee of Rs. 1,500/-.

1. Change of college from VTU-Non Autonomous to College-VTU scheme to VTU-Non Autonomous to College-VTU scheme


Requirement

  1. Student shall be eligible to 3rd, 5th and 7th semester (and 9th sem in B. Arch) as applicable.
  2. Students applying for change of college with change of branch at 3rd semester, should have passed in all subjects of I and II semesters.

Fees to pay

Change of College fee of Rs. 5,000/-shall be paid to VTU (Rs. 10,000/-if with change of branch at 3rd semester only).

Procedure to be followed

  1. Obtain No objection Certificates from both relieving and joining college
  2. Apply to VTU with change of college fee of Rs 5,000 (Rs 10,000/-if with change of branch at 3rd semester only).
  3. Submit attested copies of Marks cards of previous semesters

2. Change of college from VTU – Autonomous College to VTU – Autonomous College


Requirement

  1. Equivalence w.r.t. syllabus to be established by the Academic Council of the admitting college as per the rules of the admitting college
  2. The student should have passed all the subjects with minimum CGPA of 5.0 in the relieving college.
  3. The student must be eligible in all respects to take admission to the next higher semester.

Fees to pay

  1. Processing fee for establishing equivalence to be paid to the admitting college.
  2. Change of College fee of t.5,000 shall be paid to VTU. **

Procedure to be followed

Apply for syllabus equivalence to the Academic Council of admitting college & obtain its clearance.  After obtaining the Equivalence certificate:

  1. Obtain No Objection Certificates from both relieving and joining college
  2. Apply to VTU with change of college fee of Rs. 5,000

3. Change of college from VTU – Autonomous College to VTU Non-autonomous college-VTU scheme


 Requirement

  1. Equivalence to be established by equivalence committee of VTU
  2. Student should have passed all the subjects of all the previous semester/s in autonomous college with minimum CGPA of 5.0.
  3. The student must be eligible in all respects to take admission to the

Fees to pay

  1. Equivalence fee Rs 10 000/-to be paid to VTU
  2. Change of College fee of Rs 5,000/-shall be paid to VTU **

Procedure to be followed

Apply to VTU for establishing equivalence with the authenticated copy of syllabus of the Autonomous college and previous years degree marks cards. After obtaining the Equivalence certificate:

  1. Obtain No Objection Certificate from both relieving and joining college
  2. Apply to VTU with change of college

4. Change of college from VTU Non-autonomous college-VTU scheme to VTU – Autonomous College


 Requirement

  1. Equivalence w.r.t. syllabus to be established by the Academic Council of the admitting college as per the rules of the admitting college.
  2. the student should have passed in all the subjects under VTU Scheme.

Fees to pay

  1. Processing fee for establishing equivalence to be paid to the admitting college.
  2. Change of College fee of Rs. 5,000 /- shall be paid to VTU. **

  2. Obtain migration from parent university
  3. Apply to VTU with change of college fee of Rs. 5000

VTU Application for Revaluation & Answer Scripts 1st/2nd Sem


Applications open to 1st and 2nd semester


Schedule of submission of online applications for VTU Revaluation and Photocopy of answer scripts of 1st and 2nd semester (regular and arrear subjects) examinations held during May/June/July 2018 is as stated below:

VTU Revaluation Procedure For Filing Applications:

  3. Choose Revaluation menu.
  4. Use Departmental login Id and password to login.
  5. The instructions for the submission of application are made available on the website. Kindly follow the same.
  6. Mention candidate’s Mobile Number and Email id, as both will be used for further communication with regard to delivery of photocopy from the University. (Please ensure the correctness of the mobile number and email id)
  7. Fee for Revaluation is Rs. 400 /- per subject and for Photocopy is Rs.300 /- per subject and Application Fee is Rs.20 /- per candidate.
  8. All the students are eligible to apply for Revaluation in any number of theory subjects.
  9. All the students are eligible to apply for Photocopy of answer scripts in any number of theory subjects (excluding the scripts attached with drawing sheets).
  10. The fee collected by the students towards revaluation and photocopy of answer scripts shall be submitted to the Finance Officer, VTU Belagavi through online fee payment mode.
  11. Kindly make arrangements to submit the consolidated list along with online payment receipt for having submitted the fee before 13th August 2018 to the office of the undersigned.
  12. THERE IS NO CHALLENGE VALUATION FACILITY.

Please Note:

  1. The students should not apply for photocopy in the subjects that
    1. Require drawing sheets and
    2. Computer-aided engineering drawing subjects
      if applied no refund will be made.
  2. Due to the paucity of time, request for Extension of the last date for filing applications will not be entertained.
  3. Applications once submitted shall be final.
  4. After submitting the data, no change request in the data will be entertained.

44 VTU Colleges Rated Too Poor: College List


Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) committee has identified 44 VTU colleges that do not have proper infrastructure, laboratory facility, and teaching faculty not well-qualified to conduct classes. These type of colleges are listed under C and D categories.

Prof Jagannath Reddy, registrar of the university said, “If they fail to improve by next year, the university will be forced to initiate further action against these colleges.”

Here is the list of colleges that are under C and D category. These colleges might get a penalty if they don’t improve by the next year.
