  1. Although both are of almost the same size, however, the Consolidated Marks Card (CMC) of All the Semesters is laminated. Whereas, a transcript is not laminated.
  2. Consolidated Marks Card (CMC) of All the Semesters looks like a marks card (colorful) containing marks of the 1st semester to 8th semester. Transcript looks like an ordinary sheet of paper and it also has marks from 1st semester to 8th semester.
  3. You have to keep your consolidated marks card safe because you can get only one copy from VTU. You don’t have to worry if you lose transcript(s) because you can order more than one transcript. You can send the original transcript to whoever requests it from you and don’t have to worry if you don’t get it back.
  4. The transcript is usually requested by a college that you are applying for admission abroad or by VISA management for getting VISA.

Instead of showing separate marks card for each semester in an interview, it is better to show one marks card that has all your scores from 1st to 8th sem in a single sheet (Consolidated Marks Card (CMC) of All the Semesters)

One more great importance of Single consolidate marks card is, when you join a company, you can submit your Consolidated Marks Card (CMC) of All the Semesters in the company; instead of your original marks cards of each semester. And when you decide to leave the company, the company may not want you to leave and will threaten you to stay back holding your original marks card. If you had submitted CMC, you can just walk away from the company; let the company keep the CMC; because you can get one more copy of CMC from VTU as many times as you want.

Singl consolidated marks card shows only your first attempt total score in each semester. It doesn’t show your second attempt/updated final total score in each semester. However, it does show your updated score for each subject.
