1. Although both are of almost same in size to look, single consolidated marks card is laminated whereas transcript is not laminated.
2. Single consolidated marks card looks like our semester marks card (colorful) containing marks of 1st semester to 8th semester. But transcript looks like ordinary sheet of paper and it also contains marks from 1st semester to 8th semester.
3. You have to keep your consolidated marks card safe, because you can get only one copy from VTU. But you don’t have to worry if you lose transcript(s), because you can get any number of transcripts.
You can send original transcript to whoever request it from you and don’t have to worry if you don’t get it back.
4. Transcript is usually requested by college that you are applying for admission abroad or by VISA management for getting VISA.
Instead of showing all your individual marks card from 1st sem to 8th sem for interview, it is better to show one marks card that contains all your scores of 1st to 8th sem (single consolidated marks card)
Single consolidated marks card shows only your first attempt total score of each semester; it doesn’t know show your final score in each semester even after many attempts.
But It’ll show your final score in each subject, after many attempts correctly. But your total score from each semester is taken from your first attempt.
One more great importance of Single consolidate marks card is, when you join a company, you can submit your Single consolidated marks card in the company; instead of your original marks cards. And when you decide to leave the company, the company may not want you to leave and will threaten you to stay back holding your original marks card. If you had submitted CMC, you can just walk away from the company; let the company keep the CMC; because you can get one more copy of CMC from VTU as many times as you want.
