If you approach VTU Registrar office by 10Am in the morning, You’ll get your documents by 5 in the evening. But make sure you reach before 10 in the morning; otherwise you may have to stay in Belgaum the next day too.

      Hi Mohan,

      1. Your Marks card will contain your second attempt marks.

      2. VTU will count only your first attempt marks to declare your percentage or Class. So, its better you clear your subjects in the first attempt. But for applying for jobs, you can consider 2nd attempt marks for percentage.

          Hi Hari,

CAT/MAT/XAT don’t care how many times you passed or failed or attempts you made, they just want percentage you get after any number of attempts you make to pass subjects.

      HI vtu_student,

You can apply for Consolidated form since you have passed in all the subjects and you have all the marks cards except 6th semester which is Provisional form. However, you can still go ahead and apply…

Please Share your experience after you get the consolidated form.

college has given me a consolidated form to fill and tell me to xerox all the marks card along with the DD. I have taken all the xerox but i have some doubt in filling the form. There is one column: there asked to give semester, no of attempts, first attempt total, total marks max and result. I have filled rest all the columns but please tell me soon what i have to fill in those columns.(I have failed in 3rd sem in one lab and i have to consolidate the back result)

      Hi Sudhanshu,

No of attempts means – How many examinations you have faced to pass a semester completely.

First attempt total means – Your first time total score of a semester in your first exam.

Total Marks Max means – The total marks of an engineering semester. For example your first semester 360/600. 600 marks is the total marks.

Result means – Your Class, like, 1st class, 2nd class, or distinction.

Just fill as much as you can. Don’t worry what you are filling; because nobody is going to check your application at VTU. What they need is purpose of application and DD. So fill whatever you can even if it is wrong. But fill as much as you know.

I am a 2011 passout and presently working overseaes. I urgently need a Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) and a Single Consolidated Marks Card which need to be submitted to my company’s human resource (since the original degree itself has not arrived). My parents are based in Gujarat. Could you suggest the best and fastest possible way to procure these two documents.

I would greatly appreciate your help in this regard.

      Hi Kumar,

Best and fastest possible way to procure your documents is: Ask your parents to go to VTU Belgaum on your behalf. Your parents have to carry some identity proof that says that they are your parents, and also your ID proof, like your College ID or DL or ration card.

Thanks for reaplying with your valuable inputs Suresh.

Alternatively, what if my father has the application sent by post along with the DDs to VTU Belgaum?

Shall i follow the exact procedure you have outlined here for sending the application by post?

Lat but not the least, I had a look at the form you’ve uploaded and found only 7 rows in the semesters section (one for each sem). Shouldnt that be 8?

          Hi Kumar,

Yes, your father can send on your behalf. But, you have to make the signature. I think you can manage the signature.

Yes, it is only seven rows. The last row for 8th semester is ignored. So, you don’t have to include 8th semesters

        Hi Inshu,

        1. Here is the link for the application form to fill: CMC Application form.

Fill that form carefully. Since you are residing abroad, ask your parents to fill the form, and send all the necessary details to the address given below,

        The Registrar(Evaluation)
        Visvesvaraya Technological University
“Jnana Sangama”, Machhe Belgaum: 590 018

        2. And… Don’t forget to keep track of your application form. Call these VTU numbers shown below to enquire about your application status.

        VTU, Belguam Phone numbers:

        0831-2405468,0831-2405458, 0831-2405454, 0831-2498136, 0831-2498135.

        3. Writing a letter is not a hassle. Just write a letter in your own words stating what you want. In your case you need a single CMC; just state in the letter that you need that along with your complete details.

        Hope, I answered. your query.

            1. The application form for both Single CMC and Individual CMC is same.

            2. There are 7 columns in the CMC. You have to fill upto 7th semester. Ignore the 8th semester details. You don’t have to fill the 8th sem score.

            3. Don’t worry if you don’t remember your first attempt score and number of attempts; just fill what you remember, and send it to VTU.

    Hi,
Thanks for sharing info about VTU docs. While applying for a consolidated marks card or extract, is it mandatory to submit attested photocopies of original documents? Won’t they accepted the marks sheet which we download from their websites’ result page and attested by college princi?

Also I’m yet to receive original marks cards of few semesters, will they give them to me on hand if I go to VTU Belgaum office with all proofs?

      Hi V J Dilip,

Have you passed all the semesters from 1st to 8th semesters? You have to pass all the semesters before applying for any documents like CMC,Degree certificate, and etc

      1. It is mandatory to submit photocopies of original documents. If you have passed in all the subjects from 1st to 8th semester, then go ahead and apply for CMC. And You can submit whatever the copies of marks cards you have to VTU Belgaum.

      2. I have no precise answer to your second question. if you go to VTU Belgaum, I don’t know if they can give you your marks cards for recently out results of semesters. But chances are more that you may get your marks card in VTU Belgaum. So why don’t you try and let us now. Go for a picnic to Belgaum.

      1. Yes, It is possible to get consolidates marks card for your 3rd sem.

      2. You have to get 60% to be first class. 59.06 is not first class.

      3. 2nd attempt marks is not counted for over all percentage to declare your class in your degree certificate.

      Hi Abhi,

      1. I don’t have precise answer to your first question since you recently passed exams. But If I were you, I will go to VTU for my 8th semester marks card taking risk.

      2. Yes, you can get Single CMC from VTU Belgaum. You can get all the documents from VTU Belgaum. Yes you can get the Single CMC if you go to VTU Belgaum.

VTU Belgaum has marks of all the students on its database and also marks card printers. Just go there, instead of waiting forever in college.

And I thank you for your compliment. I am motivated. I hope this helps you. And please share your experiences too. Your experience shared here is required for your juniors who are yet to face problems like you.

I’m replying for my own question.

If you have lost any original marks card or it is damaged by fire or any other means, you’ve screwed yourself.

You need a file a police complaint giving convincing explanations, ask for a copy of a FIR report or receipt of the filed complaint (in case the police don’t file any FIR).

Then head to local civil court, get an affidavit, stating that you have really lost the marks card or it’s been damaged (FUBAR). Then head to VTU Belgaum, write a letter to registrar about the same, submit FIR / receipt copies, pay fines, pay hefty fee in order to get a duplicate marks card.

The entire procedure is hectic and one need to roam pillar and post , at least for 2-3 days to get the duplicate marks sheets.

      Hi Jebi Jose,

2005 is a long ago! I advice you to go to VTU Belgaum right-away. Before going to VTU Belguam, go to your college and check if there are any documents left. Once you collect all your remaining documents, go to Belgaum. I bet you will get all your all kind of documents easily.

And don’t worry about misplaced Marks cards; carry photocopies. No body will ask your original documents in Belgaum.

      P.S-
      I have experienced too.

Hiii, I dunno how must this information may help you.

Consolidated marks cards (CMC) (either of each sem or all sem in 1) is available only if the original marks cards were printed and sent to college.

Consider you got the result of a backlog subject recently and if you apply for consolidated marks card they won’t issue one. You have to wait till you get the marks card of that cleared backlog subject or the entire semester.

If you are applying for an “all semester in one” CMC they will charge you Rs.500/- and won’t ask you for photocopies of marks cards. But you must be having the original marks cards.

I didn’t had original marks card of a semester and I tried outsmarting them and applied for “all semester in one” CMC. But they returned the DD and application stating their system could not generate it. Things are fully automated there. It’s very hard to goof around.

    Regards.

I advice people to go to Belgaum for following reasons….

    1. Go to Belgaum When you totally don’t know where your documents are.

    2. When you don’t get answers from your college or elsewhere for your questions regarding your documents.

    3. You have completed your engineering, passing all the subjects, and you have all the marks cards with you. Now you want A single Consolidated Marks Card of all the semester combined or a CMC of individual semester or both urgently. Then I advice you to go and get it from VTU Belgaum.

    4. You have completed your engineering, passing all the subjects, and you have all the marks cards with you. Now you want a Provisional degree certificate urgently. Then go to VTU Bangalore regional centre or VTU Belgaum and get it.

    5. You have completed your engineering, passing all the subjects, and you have all the marks cards with you. And also it has been more than 1 to 1.5 years(depending upon convocation) since you completed your engineering; now you want a degree certificate urgently. Then go to VTU Belgaum and get it.

    6. You have completed 1st semester(for example); you have many marks cards of 1st semester because you had back logs and passed in multiple attempts. Now you want to combine the 1st attempt marks card with the second attempt marks card in to a Consolidated marks card of a Individual semester. Then go to VTU Belgaum if you want Consolidated marks card of a Individual semester urgently.

    7. You have completed your engineering, passing all the subjects, and you have all the marks cards with you. Now you want Transcripts urgently. Then go to VTU Belgaum and get it.

When not to go to VTU Belgaum. Rules are given below…

    1. You have completed your engineering, and you have all the marks card, but you do’t have 8th semester marks card. Now you want A single Consolidated Marks Card of all the semester combined. The don’t go to Belgaum.

    2. You have just completed your engineering or it has been just 1 to 10 months since the completion of your engineering, and you have all the marks card. Now you want your degree certificate. The don’t go to Belgaum.

    3. Your 8th sem results are out recently. Now you want your 8th sem marks urgently. The don’t go to Belgaum.

    Hi Suresh,

My father made an application in post (both for my Single CMC and PDC) since I am residing overseas. The stuff he couriered to VTU:

    1. Request Letter to VTU Registrar (I had signed and scanned it over to my dad)
    2. DD
    3. Marks Card copies
    4. Application Forms

NO identity proof was attached, NO Principal signature was obtained. The application for Single CMC and PDC was made separately in different envelopes.

My father received both the documents at our home address in India in LESS THAN 10 WORKING DAYS! Suresh, your invaluable guidance in helping me procure these two docs is thoroughly appreciated. I am a relieved man now.

    Thanks a lot!

I am planning to go to Belgaum on 17th,Saturday to apply for duplicate degree certificate, duplicate marks cards and consolidated marks cards. Any suggestion on any specific person we should meet or please share your experience. Do they give any acknowledgment after we submit the application? Also hoping to get this on the same day.

    Hello Suresh Jonna,

    In the description you mentioned:

Things Needed: A4 size Envelope, consolidation application form(optional), Xerox copy of marks card, DD, Stapler, Letter.

Later, I can see that I go to VTU:

Visit VTU Belgaum before 12 PM, and submit personally

Please Note: If you plan to submit in Belgaum, No need to carry xerox copy of marks, No need of anybody’s signature, No need of anybody’s attestation, No need of letter, and No need of application form. And You can get your Single CMC on the same day before 5PM in the evening.

Does this mean, if I directly go to VTU, I do not need to fill the application form you attached in this blog, no marksheets (original/photocopies), nothing?

    Please clarify.

    Tx.,

      Hi Adithi,

      1. You cannot apply for CMC until you get 5th and 6th Sem results. So, wait until you get results.

      2. There is never a last date for applying for CMC. You can apply any day or any time of the year.

      3. You don’t have to attest. Many of the visitors of this site have got there CMC’s with out getting attested.

Please read the article carefully. Let me know if you don’t get any part in the article so that I can try to help you understand.

      Hi Jim,

      1. I understand that You need a single CMC but you don’t have marks card to enter marks in to the application form. Don’t worry if you don’t know your first attempt score. Just fill the application to the best of your knowledge.

      2. There is no way to see the old results. If there is then I request someone reading this give the answer.

And I suggest, just go to VTU Belgaum;there is no use waiting forever and confused.

After reading all the comments above, most of my doubts are cleared. Thanks Suresh for this help. Please point me out if ive understood wrong.

Im from 2008-2012 batch and i just got my 8th sem results with FCD. But i had a backlog in 5th semester subject. I’ll be passing it for sure this time .The results should be out by August 1st week i guess. I’ve been placed in iGate and they will be asking for documents soon. I cannot produce my 5th semester failed markscard to them.

So to get a Consolidated 5th sem markscard,

Can i just go to Belgaum VTU office a month after the results are announced and ask for CMC?
    or
Should i wait till my 5th sem markscard reaches my College and then i have to approach for CMC. I’ll be getting my 5th sem markscard in February 2013 i think and it will be too late for me as i fear i’ll be disqualified by the iGate.

I have one more doubt please help me on that. You had mentioned ” we have to write a letter addressing registrar, requesting him that you need coni solidation of marks card/cards and Letter must contain your College ID” , so I just want to confirm do I have to write a letter on a college letter pad Or it not necessary to be written on a college letter pad if i am visiting directly.

      Hi Santhosh,

If you are going to VTU Belgaum there is no need to write any letter. Just carry Photo Identity proof like College ID, Driving License, or Voter ID card

For you information: You have to write a letter on a plain white sheet. Writing letter on a college pad is not at all needed.

      Hi Abdu,

Yes, you can improve your aggregate writing the exam again. But make sure you work hard otherwise you may get less score than the previous. One more thing, if you have more than 60% aggregate without any back logs then don’t write the exam again to improve your score.

      Please Note:
I am just letting you know what I might do, and I don’t recommend you to follow my opinion. Your decision matters the most.

Both are not needed for applying for higher studies. What you need the most important is Transcript. And again it all depends upon where you are applying for studies. Otherwise Transcript is commonly asked by any universities.

      Hi Sneha,

You don’t need principal’s signature and seal to get Single CMC. Ask your parents to send Single CMC application form along with DD from India and wait for few days. And ask them not to forget Consignment number when they send the courier so that they can track whether the application form has reached or not.

Or ask them to go to VTU, Belguam directly along with your identity proof(College ID, DL..) to get your documents instantly.

I would like to know if you know what’s the exact procedure to get my degree stamped by saudi embassy in India too? An early reply will be highly appreciated. Thanks a ton and keep up the great work!!

      Good Day Ahesan,
For embassy attestation you don`t need to visit VTU, i myself reside in Abudhabi UAE.
Send the certificate to any authentic agent in india ( if you want i can give you the details)
procedure is ( agent will take care of ) time 8-10 days
      1) Notary attestation on the reverse of your certificate( they peel the lamination if any without any damage)
      2) Home department attestation( Also called as Mantralaya)
      3) ministry of external affairs government of india attestation
      finally
      4) saudi embassy attestation.

Should I count my first attempt marks for aggregate or passed marks which is shown in consolidated marks card.

Consolidated marks card only shows first attempt total.

I’m sending resume to Graduate school.

    Hi Suresh Bhai,
I have completed my B.E, this june 2013. I have got a job opportunity in a company and they are asking me to provide my original marksheets and PDC.
I have Applied for PDC as you have mentioned.
But i had a back subject in my 6th sem and i have cleared it during my 8th sem. Now,
    1. how can I get 6th sem passed markscard soon?
    2. can i apply for single CMC?
    3. can i apply for Single CMC using a provisonal markscard of 6th sem provided from college?
    4. when will the 8th sem marks card be issued, cause i can apply for single CMC only after i get my 8th sem markscard, right?

      Hi John,

You have completed your BE recently which means you cannot expect your documents to be printed immediately; it takes time. But you can expect PDC.
      So, wait.

    Hey Suresh,

If I’m already applying for Transcripts, do I really need a Consolidated Marks Card for admissions abroad?
Also, is it possible to submit the form and get the work done at the Regional office?

    Thank you,
    Arka

I think the above given application form is for Consolidated Marks Card of individual semester and not for Consolidated STATEMENT of Marks Card (1st to 8th Semester) or Single Consolidated Marks Card. The form for Consolidated STATEMENT of Marks Card (1st to 8th Semester) or Single Consolidated Marks Card is available at http://vtu.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/consolidated.jpg

    Author pls check..

      Hi Ashok,

Individual marks card is most important than single consolidated marks card; never lose it.
Single Consolidated marks card is made available only for your convenience.
